How it works

BarQL is a data jumper: the fastest way to the place where analysis happens. It builds the link to your tool's own no-code editor and opens it, so you can see exactly what was asked and keep going from there.

Step 1

Name what matters

List the twenty or so metrics, filters and breakdowns your team actually says out loud. Or let your AI assistant draft them for you over MCP.

Step 2

Type bq and ask

In the address bar, type bq, a space, then a short query like weekly signups by country.

Step 3

Land in your tool

The question opens in Metabase, Google Sheets, Gmail or GitHub, built with the tool's own controls. Change a filter there, or edit the query and run it again.

A few words, in order

The metric comes first, then what to break it out by and over what time. It is small enough to hold in your head, and it reads like what you'd say in a meeting.

Built on three promises

No SQL, ever

BarQL opens your tool's no-code editor, never a wall of generated SQL. What was asked is right there in controls you already know, so you can check it and adjust it.

Your data stays put

BarQL builds the request; your tool runs it. Results never pass through BarQL, and nothing about your numbers is stored. There is nothing for a security review to object to.

Yours for your whole career

Learn it once. When you change jobs or your company changes tools, the queries you know still work; only the config underneath changes.

One grammar across every system that keeps its query in a link. The metric picks the tool, so you never switch modes.
